Educational Opportunities

Education is important at WMLC. We offer a wide variety of options for you to take part in for all ages! Please call the church office for more information or check the Calendar and Events page for more details.

Sunday School:

/media/images/products/category_3512.jpgEach Sunday during the school year we offer classes for children age 2 through 6th grade. From age 2 through 4th grade we will concentrate on basic Bible stories, Biblical characters and connecting our faith to our lives. We do this during our Education Hour on Sunday morning. All of the children will meet for music and mission then be sent out into their sites. Their sites could be anything from drama to arts, from foods to DVD. We are trying to capture the different ways children learn and take a Bible story and break it down over a month to teach it.

In 5th & 6th grade the youth will take a year to go through the Old Testament and a year to go through the New Testament. This will help prepare the youth for their confirmation classes. Please join us on Sunday mornings.

Vacation Bible School

Each June WMLC offers a week for children, age 3 through those who have completed 5th grade, to learn Bible stories in an in depth way while connecting service to their learning. This runs the week following school getting out each year, Monday-Thursday, full days (9am-3pm), with a half day on Friday as well as half days (9-11:30am) for pre school children. As with all of our opportunities, this is open to all those in our community. The children come back year after year for an exciting week together.

Adult Education

The Wired Word is the name of our adult education program, which takes place every Sunday morning from 9:45 to 10:25 a.m. it's really exciting material as we connect items from the week's news with our faith. Please join us!

Confirmation

Confirmation classes are for youth in 7-9th grades, or older youth that wish to be a part of the class.  We study the Small Catechism: Lord's Prayer, Apostle's Creed, 10 Commandments as well as Martin Luther, worship and other topics.  Classes are on most Wednesday nights for 7-8th graders.  We combine class time with service and fellowship.  Our 9th graders meet in the fall to develop their faith statements and prepare for their Affirmation of Baptism in the late fall.

If you would like to be a part of our classes contact Pastor David.

Bold Believers Adult Study:

This is a time for the women to meet in the evening. This group meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm.

Adult Book Club:

Each month a book selection is made. Participants meet to discuss the books, usually at a home. Books have ranged in genres and are always interesting! This group will begin at 7:00 pm on the second Wednesday of the month. Contact the office for location and book title.
